FAQs
Q. Can I work full-time with E-Dictate as an employee from home?
A. Yes, absolutely. Since 2020, E-Dictate has transitioned to a fully remote work model. All employees and associates work from home. If you are hired as a full-time employee, your manager will work with you to establish an appropriate grade and compensation package. There are additional formalities for full-time roles, which our HR manager will guide you through. However, the employee option depends on available vacancies.
Q. How do I receive feedback and improve my work?
A. Our software platform makes receiving feedback easy. You can review comments from our QA team and compare your version of the document with the final version delivered to the customer. This process allows you to continuously improve your work and align closely with quality expectations.
Q. Is there any minimum number of hours required for working with E-Dictate?
A. As a full-time employee, you will be expected to work regular hours with E-Dictate. For Home-Based Associates (HBAs), after completing a 30-day probationary period, you are required to process a minimum of 500 lines per day in case you are unable to commit to full-time work. Reliability is essential for success at E-Dictate, and we seek candidates who are dedicated and sincere. The standard shift for HBAs is from 7 am to 3 pm, with night shifts assigned as needed based on client requirements.
Q. Will there be online support available? Can I get assistance through chat?
A. Yes, we offer 24/7 online support for all Home-Based Associates (HBAs) and employees. For production-related issues, assistance is available during your scheduled shift. We use Skype for chat, and mentors are accessible during morning hours to help clarify any questions. Additionally, E-Dictate's Resource Support System (RSS) provides an online portal for addressing various matters, including HR inquiries, salary questions, and more. Our team is dedicated to delivering prompt and effective support.
Q. Will I always get work when I login?
A. To ensure steady workflow, it is essential to establish a shift or schedule in collaboration with your manager once you join. By adhering to an agreed-upon volume, we can guarantee work during your scheduled hours. Please note, however, that we do not encourage HBAs to work between 3 PM and 8 PM, so do consider your time slot commitment carefully.
Q. Do I have to be online to transcribe?
A. Yes, you must remain online throughout your shift. This connectivity serves as the foundation of our support system, ensuring seamless coordination and communication across all locations.
Q. Do I need to have any software to work with E-Dictate?
A. E-Dictate will help and train you with setup and installation of the transcription software. Our proprietary transcription software is packed with great features and productivity tools such as instant access to dictations, feedback with error tracking, detailed day-by-day payment schedules, knowledge portals, and online support. However, you’ll need to arrange for the latest editions of Stedman’s online referencing software, electronic drug references, the AAMT Book of Style, updated spell checkers, and Microsoft Word installed on your own.
Q. Will I receive help if I encounter any difficulties?
A. Yes, E-Dictate provides 24/7 online support. Additionally, you’ll be assigned a mentor who will guide you through key aspects of the role, such as handling difficult dictations, fulfilling special customer requests, and achieving direct status. This support structure is designed to accelerate your progress and help you maximize your potential and earnings.

Q. How are jobs assigned to me?
A. Jobs are assigned based on your preferences. Each job must be completed within two hours; otherwise, it will be reallocated by the Workflow Support Team.
Q. What is MT Plus ID?
A. Initially your work will be evaluated by our QAs and once your quality is found to be client deliverable, you will be issued direct status (MTPlus ID). Once you achieve this status you will have the facility to either send files direct to client or send to QA for reviewing the entire document or just the blanks which you have. Your mentor will be your key point of contact for the success of reaching this milestone.
Q. How can I expedite the process of getting direct status?
A. This entirely depends on you. Regularly reviewing feedback from your mentor and making improvements will speed up your progress. Our self-learning tools also support you in achieving direct upload privileges more quickly.

A. Payments are made by the 5th working day of every month for the previous month’s work. Funds are deposited directly into your bank account.
Q. Are payments linked to quality? How does it work?
A. Yes, payment is indeed linked to quality. Based on your performance, deductions may apply to your monthly line count. For more specifics, please refer to your HBA agreement. Our Quality Audit Team conducts regular assessments to ensure consistent quality standards.
Q. What quality audit standards does E-Dictate follow?
A. We adhere to the AAMT Book of Style, Version 2. Errors are categorized as Minor (0.25), Major (0.5), and Critical (2), with error points calculated per 1,000 lines.
